Ripples

I awake deep in the night,
My heart pounding;
Hard and fast it beats for you.
It's rhythmic throbbing
Sends shock waves towards you.

Ripples in the ocean
They grow larger, stronger, higher
Becoming earnest waves of emotion
Seeking their way
To the shores of your heart.

Will they reach you?
Will you feel them?
Will they move you;
Throwing you off balance?
Will you respond?
