Sunday Haiku

Singing hymns of worship and thanks and feeling like a liar.

But you're not a liar. I think it's okay to sing when we feel like crying and say thanks when we feel like screaming. Just so long as you really do let yourself cry and scream when you need to.

God has heard plenty of hurting, angry prayers so yours would be nothing new to Him. And don't forget that my shoulders are wide enough to catch your tears, too.

I wish we knew a few of the sadder Psalms, so that I could work them into the rotation.

Psalm 3 (O Lord, how are my foes increased, against me many rise") and Psalm 6 (No Longer, Lord Despise Me) come to mind.

I remember breaking into singing Psalm 6 (#511 in the hymnal) when a particularly difficult employee left Sunburst Electronics.
